Why: To get active, get healthy, get moving, and challenge yourself, all while helping those effected by the Covid-19 Crisis! 100% of net proceeds from this event will go to: Our (yet to be decided) charity partner to support community-based organizations in the local More Miles community! Again in 2023, all participants also have the option to raise funds in the form of pledges-per-mile for their own charity of choice - so you can also make an impact in YOUR community! (Details below)

Where: Your home! This is a fully VIRTUAL event! Live results will be posted HOURLY on our Facebook Event Page
What: Every hour, within the hour, participants will complete 1-mile on foot. The challenge is to continue this hourly mile, EVERY HOUR, for as long as you can, until only one participant remains. You can walk, you can run... speed does not matter, only continuity! You can complete 1 mile and stop, or continue forward every hour to compete for the Last One Standing title. The choice is yours, and your contribution to OUR beneficiary is the same no matter what! But by continuing forward, you'll be able to raise even more for YOUR beneficiary! Remember 100% of net proceeds will be donated! So invite your family, your friends, your neighbors. Let's band together and help each other!

Official Rules: *Results will be based on the honor system, however if you wish to have an official result, and/or be considered for the Last One Standing title, you must submit proof of 1-mile completion BEFORE the end of EACH hour. (Proof can include a photo from your GPS watch or activity tracker.) Use the "Submit My Mile" at the bottom of this page
*If your mile is not submitted by the end of the hour (xx:59:59), you will be considered "out".
*Treadmill miles ARE acceptable, but must be accompanied by data from a fitness-tracker device if you wish to be considered for the Last One Standing title.
*If there are multiple contenders standing AFTER 48 HOURS of competition, 1 additional mile per hour will be added to the challenge beginning in Hour 49 until a winner emerges. There will only be ONE! *Every participant will be scored in the final results based on the number of hours completed. In the final round, if a contender begins the hour, but does not complete the required mileage for that hour, they will be ranked by the distance they were able to complete.
*All miles must be completed on foot. No bikes, scooters, etc. permitted.
Pledge-Per-Mile For Charity *Every participant has the opportunity to raise funds for the charity of THEIR choice! We will even have a separate leaderboard for the most money raised! Here's how it works: 1. Select a charity you are passionate about or interested in (locally, nationally, or otherwise). 2. If you need ideas, visit our Facebook Event page for a running list of non-profit organizations in need of donations! 3. Ask your friends and family to sponsor your race in the form of a Pledge Per Mile. (i.e. $1 per mile) 4. Complete as many miles/hours as you can, beginning May 20th! The more you complete, the more donation you earn! 5. When you finish, or the event ends, notify your sponsors and collect your pledges. 6. If you wish to join the Donation Leaderboard, please also notify race management of your end-total dollar amount! moremileschallenge@gmail.com 6. Make your donation (online or in person) to the cause that you chose. **This is an individual effort. The Last One Standing Challenge is not responsible for tracking or collecting your pledges. We will provide the race, the fun, and the opportunity to do good in YOUR community too!
